Hubby, "C" and I painted the kid's bathroom earlier this week. I've always wanted to paint it because the beige color was so blah. Also, when you turned the light on, it was way too bright in there. I also didn't like that huge mirror. It was so plain.
I originally thought I'd use green for the paint color but decided not to because I wanted something darker. I chose the paint color based on the colors in the shower curtain. I decided on "smokey topaz" instead, from Sherwin Williams. Tuesday night, while we were at Michael's looking at christmas decorations, I saw some bamboos in the floral department. I had an "aha" moment and thought they would look great in the bathroom! I was so excited. The following day, I bought a cheap manual saw and a glue gun at Lowe's. I then cut the bamboos manually (ouch!) using the tub as my table saw. LOL. I used them to frame the plain mirror and the medicine cabinet. I then used the hot glue gun to attach them. I like how it turned out! More pics at Flickr.
This video reminds me of when I'm in the car with Ashley while she's practicing her driving. LOL. I'm not as bad as the mom though. I try to be patient but sometimes I wish I had brakes on my side of the car! She does pretty good though! I think driver's Ed and driving on the ATV helped her learn to drive much faster than when I was learning how to drive.
P.S. Slide the bar up to 2:35 to watch the part where they're driving.
What's your favorite thing to drink when it's cold outside?
I'm drinking some right now. It's hot cocoa with marshmallows. Yumm..
(the temp is actually in the 80's right now though)
Either that or cappuccino.
What's on your holiday wishlist?
Hmm.. haven't really thought about it. Besides the 'usual' that I ask for every year which is a set of lotions from Bath and Body Works and a christmas ornament with the year imprinted on it (or an angel ornament). Anything that smells good would be enough for me. That and maybe some bling bling.. LOL
*I'm almost sure of the bling bling 'coz of some hints given by some people who can't wait until Christmas. hehehe..
I always laugh whenever I hear this song. Glad someone posted it in youtube. They're so cute! Didn't know this was back from '61. Wow. You'll have to slide the bar up to 1:24 for the actual song. Will definitely go to see the movie. :)
-I'll say we are!
-Yeah!
-Let's sing it now!
Okay, Simon?
-Okay!
Okay, Theodore?
-Okay!
Okay, Alvin? Alvin? ALVIN!
-OKAY!!!)
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
Okay fellas get ready
That was very good, Simon.
-Naturally.
Very good Theodore.
-Ahhh.
Ah, Alvin, you were a little flat, watch it.
Ah, Alvin. Alvin. ALVIN!
-OKAY.
Want a plane that loops the loop
I still want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
Very good, boys
-Lets sing it again! Yeah, lets sing it again!
No, That's enough, lets not overdo it
-What do you mean overdo it?
-We want to sing it again!
Now wait a minute, boys
-Why can't we sing it again?
-[chipmunk chatter]
Alvin, cut that out..Theodore, just a minute.
Simon will you cut that out? Boys...
What is the best present you have ever given?
Submitted by quornflour.
Not to sound corny but it's my love for my family. You can't buy that at a store. :)
2nd best would be the 4-wheeler I gave hubby for his bday.
He has laryngitis! He can barely meow. He's been like this since the week before Thanksgiving.
It started when there was a kitten in the backyard. He kept meowing at it. At first, I thought he was being cute with the way he meowed. A couple of days later, his meow got hoarse. I called the vet and they said that if he's eating and drinking, he'll be fine.
Hubby called them today 'coz he's not getting any better and they think he has laryngitis. We'll have to take him to the vet for a check-up tomorrow. Poor kitty! I didn't even know kitties can get laryngitis!
If your Vox Neighborhood had a potluck dinner tonight, what dish, drink or dessert would you bring?
I'd bring pancit or lumpia. Everybody loves them!
If I decided to bring dessert, I'd bring some cheesecake bought from my favorite grocery store. Yumm!
Did you shop for great deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Or did you observe Buy Nothing Day?
Nah.. haven't gone shopping yet. I've always wanted to try going shopping on Black Friday but then again, I see all the craziness on tv and I never go. There'll be other sales later. I might try doing some online shopping this year.
Do you tend to like music in particular genres, or are your tastes all over the place? What are your most and least favorite musical genres?
My musical preference have evolved over the years. Used to listen to pop and dance music all the time about 5 years ago. I also liked techno music. I would also listen to 80's and 90's music. Of course, I liked listening to love songs too.
Nowadays, I mostly listen to christian music. It's just so encouraging and it always lifts up my spirit. At night, if I happen to be in the car, I would sometimes listen to Delilah. She plays love songs. I like listening to the dedications. Reminds me of the Philippines. Sometimes I switch to the Disney channel on the satellite radio. I've even started listening to some country music which I used to loathe! I guess it's because hubby used to listen to it and Ashley likes it too. It's the "new country" (e.g. Carrie Underwood) that I like though. Not the heavy twangy, hee-haw music. LOL. I still listen to the 80's and 90's music too. The kids complain that I listen to the same songs all the time. LOL.
